It's only Monday but I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't already looking forward to the weekend. I plan to head up to track after work on Friday, it's about a 5.5 hour trip so I should make it before Midnight as long as everything goes to plan. This is a 2 for 1 special this weekend with the Heartland S/SS combo race on Saturday and the NHRA National Open on Sunday.

Any other ATDS members planning on hitting up these races this weekend?

The weather does look good for this weekend, I looked on MSN earlier and they didn't have any rain at all in the forecast. Highs in the low 80's should make for a great weekend of racing!

Randy, I think you guys need to head west with that yellow whip at least for the Saturday race.

It's a nice day so far here in Cedar Falls, 82*, 60% humidity and the adj alt is 2150 at the moment. They just called super street and s/g to the lanes and then s/ss is out after that. It looks to be a decent turnout for the stockers so far, I'll have a better idea when we go up for our first pass.

Jeff and Jerry Stealy are making their first outing of the season this weekend with Jerry piloting their Camaro. Jeff is doing alot better and said he can't wait to get back in the car.

Cars I've seen so far: chris knudsen, Fred and Kevin suiter, glen demenge, Jim schaetcher, Terry Johnson, tj diekema, Eddie wohl and several others I'm forgetting.

Unfortunately it was a less than stellar weekend at the track for me. I fought a few problems with the car on Saturday and then made a few adjustments to the car and saw some improvement in the car yesterday. Thanks to Jim and Joe Schaechter for loaning me some smaller jets!

Randy Shepard won the Heartland race on Saturday and Terry Johnson won the open yesterday.

Bob Frey made a guest appearance in the announcers booth and the ESPN crew filmed some of the action. They said it will be aired along with the Lucas Oil Sportsman coverage from Brainerd in a few weeks.

I did manage to take a few pictures:
